We welcome pitches that bring a fresh, thoughtful perspective to storytelling craft. A strong proposal gives readers something specific to notice, try, or reconsider, without promising a single right way to write.
What we are looking for
Pitch ideas about character, setting, plot, voice, revision, or another clearly related part of making stories. We like subjects grounded in a precise question, a useful writing exercise, or a distinctive way of seeing a familiar craft challenge. Practical pieces should be useful without depending on statistics, studies, or claims of special access.
Shape a clear pitch
Tell us the working idea, the reader it could help, and what the piece would cover. A short outline is helpful when the subject has several parts. Please say whether the idea has been published or sent elsewhere, and disclose any relevant commercial connection.
Send a proposal
Proposals are sent through the Contact page. Choose the editorial question option and include your pitch in the message. Please send a proposal rather than a completed article unless we have agreed otherwise.
